About the Game
Birds of War is a class-based aerial PvP game where three teams of three steal eggs from rival nests and defend their own. Proximity voice chat means you hear an opponent coming before you see them. They hear everything you say back. The easiest way to describe it: it's COD, but you're a bird.
Born from viral AI clips of a game that did not exist, Birds of War was built for real by a Melbourne team of three: a rapper, a videographer, and a former professional esports player. It launched with 100,000 Steam wishlists without paid advertising. More than 25,000 unique players joined the Steam Next Fest demo.
“We kept seeing these fake AI clips of a multiplayer bird game that didn't actually exist, so we decided to change that. We thought it would take two weeks. It didn't. Six months later, it's finally here. This is a win for human and bird-kind. We stole AI's job.”
Seaton Rogers, Founder, HexNest Games
“You guys might have something here, this could be the biggest thing. Rip Fortnite. This could be the next Marvel Rivals, I see it. I see it.”

Key Features
3V3V3 Aerial Combat
The base game mode "Egg Siege" features three teams of three in fast-paced aerial fights. Steal eggs, defend your nest, eliminate rivals. No two matches play the same.
Proximity Voice Chat
Hear enemies as they get close. Trash-talk, deceive, coordinate. Your voice is your most powerful weapon.
Nine Bird Classes
Crow, Hummingbird, Shoebill, Pigeon, Eagle, Owl, Seagull and more. Each has a distinct role and playstyle.
Ragdoll Physics
Every hit, collision, and death produces unique, hilarious ragdoll moments. Built for clips and content.
Pay to Flex, Not Pay to Win
All gameplay earned through skill. Cosmetics let you drip out your bird. Nothing gives a competitive edge.
Built for Content
A 9:16 in-game camera toggle and Mute All Forever button join proximity chat, ragdolls, and chaotic PvP built for clips.
Playable Birds
Crow
SaboteurSlips in, spots a weak target, and makes their life hell. Fragile, sneaky, and worth the risk when you get the pick.
Hummingbird
HarasserToo quick to hit and never gives you a second to breathe. Darts through fights, chips away, then vanishes before you land a swing.
Pigeon
SupportThe bird with an answer for everything. Gives your team vision, locks down space, and helps turn scrappy fights your way.
Shoebill
AnchorHard to move and harder to kill. Soaks the damage, carries the egg, and makes every chokepoint a shit place to be.
Eagle
DiverGet height, pick a target, and come down beak-first. The Eagle hits hard, but you need to commit.
Owl
AmbusherFinds the angle, waits for the opening, and hits before you realise it is there. Best when the fight gets dark and messy.
Seagull
DisruptorLoud, greedy, and built to ruin a clean fight. Throws people off, causes panic, then hangs around to steal the scraps.
The Origin Story
Late in 2025, AI-generated clips of a fake multiplayer bird game called Bird Game 3 started moving around the internet. People wanted to play it. HexNest Games decided to build it for real.
Six months later, the meme became Birds of War: a self-funded Unreal Engine 5 multiplayer game with nine classes, multiple modes, hot-mic proximity chat, and a community of 100,000 pre-launch wishlists. It is available now on Steam.
Content Creator Policy
You are free to record, stream, upload, and monetize any and all Birds of War content. No restrictions. We actively encourage it, this is your game as much as it is ours. Spread the word. Bird Gang.
